Moulana Taqi Ali, referred by many Indian Ulamaa as Linguistic Personality (“Knowing five languages”). He leads a very active life, teaching, preaching, writing, lecturing, and making occasional journeys.Moulana Taqi was born in 'Chennai' City of India. His family was well-respected and held an eminent position in Chennai. Some time in the past, his forefathers had migrated from Hyderabad to a village of Tamil Nadu and from there to Chennai.
His family was purely of religious order and very well accepted as observant of Salaah (Namaz) and Fasting. Hence in his very early childhood he visited Karbala for the Ziyarah of Imam Hussain(a.s.). Moulana Taqi learned Quran and Hadith from his grandfather Late Mir Sultan Husain Sahib at a young age. He then tutored by a distinguish scholars of Houze Elmeya Ameerul Momeneen, Hujjatul Islaam Moulana Sayed Aslam Rizvi and Hujjatul Islaam Moulana Shaikh Ilyaas Husain.
At the age of twenty two he was sent for the higher studies to Qom Al-Muqadas Iran (Center for religious Studies) where he received higher education in Houza Elmiyah Aayatullah Marashi Najafi in various fields like Sciences of Quran, Sciences of Hadees, Theology (Aqayad), Philosophy, Islamic History, Comparative studies, Fiqh (Jurisprudence) etc. After completing a valuable five years of his education he returned to India for preaching. Beside preaching he emerged as a good consultant for the community as a whole.
The spiritually charged atmosphere of Qom Al-Muqadas, coupled with brilliant teachers and Moulana Taqi's own intelligence and piety, together contributed to the excellence of theory and practice that was manifested in his personality. His literary life began at Qom Al-Muqadas, when he wrote The Reappearance of Imam Mehdi(a.s.) by the help of Masoom Ali Naser Bhai in English at the age of 28. He possessed linguistic skills and mastered the Arabic, Persian, and Urdu languages by the same age.
After his return to India he then graduated in Arabic literature in the year 2000 from the famous college in Chennai, in 2008 he Mastered in the same field, in 2011 he Mastered in Persian Literature from Lucknow University, and in 2013 he Mastered in Islamic Studies from University of Madras India at present pursuing Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) .
